Systems Technician (2nd Shift)
Duties of Position
Applies advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Performs complex technical tasks to assist engineers with electronic systems. Supports efforts to plan, procure, fabricate, remove, install, and complete all mechanical and electrical work efforts. Performs equipment removal, cabling, connectorization, electrical equipment installation, equipment overhauls, fabricating and assembling electronics subassemblies, and calibration checks on electronic instruments. Troubleshoots electronics systems to determine cause and remedy for malfunctioning, conducts routine engineering tests, keeps equipment/parts inventories, and assists with general lab work. Provides on-site installation support. Organizes and updates technical documentation. Continues to develop working knowledge of all operating standards, practices, and procedures, including safety procedures. Supports Quality Assurance Manager and Production Manager. Provides OJT and instruction as necessary.
Subject Matter Expert for any of the following shipboard electronics systems: Fleet Broadcast System, USQ-122, SSR-1, High Frequency (HF), Radio Frequency (RF), High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Electronic Support Measure (ESM), and Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems. Subject Matter Expert for Advanced TDMA Interface Processor (ATIP) including Teleports, IPV and DISA gateways. Working knowledge of satellite communication (SATCOM) systems operations, maintenance, and repair in shipboard, submarine, and shore-based environments.
Required Skills & Experience
6 yrs recent C4ISR or other relevant experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, installation and de-installation of electronic systems, equipment, components, antennas, cables, cableways, waveguides and ducts, while using logic analyzers and digital oscilloscopes.
Experience performing overhaul and repairs on any of the following shipboard electronics systems:
- USQ-122, SSR-1,
- High Frequency (HF),
- Radio Frequency (RF),
- High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG),
- Digital Modular Radio (DMR),
- Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT),
- Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN),
- Electronic Support Measures (ESM), or
- Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems.
Operations knowledge of USQ-122, SSR-1, URN-25, WSC-3, URT-23E, DAMA, WRL-8, STC-2 a plus.
Willingness to work a second shift schedule (shift ends at 10pm).
This position requires a Secret US DoD security clearance.
Preferred Skills
Legacy and Follow On Terminal (FOT) AN/USC-38 Extremely High Frequency (EHF) (all variants) and/or C-12509 Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Interface Processor (TIP) (all variants) and/or AN/WSC-6(V) Super High Frequency (SHF) Communication System (all variants). Supporting patching, cryptographic, and baseband equipment a plus. Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008.
Additional Notes
Completion of an appropriate military “A" school and completion of at least one appropriate military “B" or "C" school may be substituted for the two year requirement; Associate’s or higher in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), Technology Management (TM), Information Systems (IS), Information Resources Management (IRM), Information Technology (IT) or Physics.
Remarks
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must possess basic math skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office products. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation: $40 - $50.52 an hour.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
