In support of NIWC government programs, Centurum is searching for multiple System Administrators with both Microsoft, VMWare and LINUX experience to work on systems in Charleston, SC.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform system administration and troubleshooting in a mixed virtual and physical environment.
• Troubleshoot basic end-to-end networking problems involving switches, routers, servers, VLANS, and other IT devices and or services.
• Identify End-of-Life (EOL) issues, ensure all applications hosted on internal servers are approved in accordance with customer requirements.
• Perform regular maintenance duties such as patching, upgrades, and migrations to local and distributed systems.
• Perform support tasking in accordance with organization-approved Preventive Maintenance Plan.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating hardware and software in Microsoft and Linux environment.
• Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, hardware, and software.
• Troubleshoot networking and operating system problems.
• Monitor performance and advise stakeholders on any infrastructure/process changes required.
• Ensure optimal system performance (infrastructure and application)
• Update Test and Change Control documentation
• Define and perform system backup and recovery administration for both physical and virtual environments.
• Provide on-site and on-call services to users
• Adhere to safety procedures
• Recognize risks which may pose a danger to team members and resolve such issues (where possible) or modify work, mitigating the risk to others until resolution is implemented
• Perform onsite installation and/or upgrade on delivered systems in accordance with customer requirements and schedules
Required Skills/Years of Experience
• Must be a United States Citizen
• Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.
• Minimum 3 years of previous System Administrator experience with Microsoft Windows, Linux, and VMWare within US Navy or DoD environments
• Comprehensive knowledge of Server Infrastructure, Virtualization and Operating Systems – which includes Windows, Linux, VMware
• Possess superior technical aptitude
• Must possess and maintain a DoD Cybersecurity Workforce

Bachelor’s level degree in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
