DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electronics Technician Maintenance (ETM) III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. Examples of such problems include determining the location and density of circuitry, evaluating electromagnetic radiation, isolating malfunctions, and incorporating engineering, changes. Work typically requires an understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analyses, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using complex test instruments such as high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, and complex computer control equipment. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower level technicians.
The ideal candidate will have experience performing overhauls and repairs on any of the following shipboard electronics systems: High Frequency (HF), Radio Frequency (RF), High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Navy Multiband Terminal (NMT), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Electronic Support Measures (ESM), or Naval Shipboard Antenna Systems.
REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Prior working knowledge on two or more of the followings systems is required: Extremely High Frequency (EHF), Super High Frequency (SHF), Global Broadcast System (GBS), KA Band, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Processor (TIP), Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), and Navy Multi-band Terminal (NMT); perform all duties unsupervised.
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Travel Required: 25%
Work Location: San Diego, CA
This position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Desired to be capable of performing all duties unsupervised.
Desired to provide the status of their assigned tasks via both prepared and ad hoc oral briefings to senior Navy personnel.
Must be able to develop written instructions, procedures, schematics and other technical documentation.
REMARKS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation: $46 - $58 an hour.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
