DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electrical and Mechanical Computer-Aided Design (ECAD/MCAD) Engineer will be responsible for mechanical design tasks using SolidWorks, including creating models, detailed drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs). Additionally, this role requires expertise in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, such as OrCAD Capture/Allegro or Altium Designer for schematic capture and Printed Circuit Board (PCB) layout. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between mechanical and electronic design to ensure seamless product integration.
This role supports engineering work that helps identify and define new restoration capabilities for the Navy’s C4ISR Restoration Depot, including designing, evaluating, planning, testing, and operating C4ISR electrical, electronic, mechanical, and/or computer components, equipment, and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain mechanical CAD models, detailed drawings, and BOMs using SolidWorks.
• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout using OrCAD Capture / Allegro or Altium Designer.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and mechanical engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Support design reviews and troubleshoot design-related issues.
• Maintain documentation and revision control for mechanical and electronic designs.
• Assist in prototyping and testing as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a related field.
• Certified in SolidWorks to develop 3D mechanical CAD drawings and simulations (modeling, diagrams, BOM generation).
• Experience with OrCAD Capture/Allegro or Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design and layout.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic design integration.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Work closely with the Quality team to complete any First Article Inspection Reports or relevant Corrective and Preventive Actions and submit Technical Data Packages to Configuration Management.
• 6 years of recent C4ISR or other relevant ME and EE experience in designs, builds, installations, testing, documentation, and recommending corrective actions.

This position is required to have and maintain a Secret US DoD security clearance.
PREFERRED SKILLS
• Utilizes ScanCAD to reverse engineer single and multi-layer PCBs back to schematic drawings.
• Certifications in OrCAD Capture/Allegro, Altium Designer, and/or P-Spice are highly recommended.
• Utilizes ScanCAD to reverse engineer single and multi-layer PCBs back to schematic drawings.
• Utilizes Flying Probe Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to fault isolate production PCBs and identify manufacturing defects in new production PCBs.
• Experience with test automation and scripting is a plus.
• Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2015.
REMARKS
Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation: $105K - $150K annual salary.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
