Technical Trainer - IT Specialist
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Trainer with a U.S. Navy IT background to support the sustainment, upgrade, and delivery of Fleet Representative Tactical IT Systems in a training environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building training programs, collaborating with Navy customers, and supporting formal Navy training processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Support sustainment and upgrades of Fleet Representative Tactical IT Systems used in training environments.
• Develop, plan, direct, and evaluate training programs aligned with customer learning objectives.
• Work collaboratively with customers to create, enhance, or evaluate course content and learning objectives; develop complete training support packages using LOM/AIM II and CPM in accordance with NAVEDTRA 142‑series guidance.
• Participate in Training Requirements Reviews (TRR) and support development and updates to Navy Training System Plans (NTSP) in compliance with OPNAVINST 1500.76.
• Perform NTSP revisions using the Human Analysis & Requirements Planning System (HARPS).
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 4 years of experience with U.S. Navy Information Technology systems administration or maintenance.
• At least 5 years of experience developing military or industrial Training Support Material.
• Demonstrated understanding of U.S. Navy training requirements and processes (e.g., NAVEDTRA 142 series).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, a related technical field, or Navy Instructor certification (NEC 9502).
• Active U.S. SECRET security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications such as Security+, Red Hat, or Linux.
• NEC 9502 (Navy Instructor) or NEC 9506 (Curriculum Developer).
• Master Training Specialist certification.
• Experience with LOM/AIM II, CPM, and HARPS.
• Familiarity with USN training processes such as TRP, NTSP, and JDTA.
• Experience working with U.S. and foreign military or government personnel.
• Additional skills in Photoshop, Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint, or graphic design.
