DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
Seeking an HR Assistant with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a government contracting environment and with California labor law. Qualified candidate will provide support to the Human Resources Department with the following duties.

• Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
• Process background and reference checks.
• Prepare new hire packets and conduct new hire onboarding.
• Track, coordinate, and author annual performance reviews.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date files, records, and documentation.
• Upload and maintain employee resume updates in the Centurum Employee Management System (EMS).
•  Coordinate and arrange meetings, prepare agendas, reserve conference rooms, and prepare facilities.
• Support data collection and reporting activities.
• Perform periodic audits of HR files and records.
• Scan, make copies and assemble correspondence or other printed materials.
• General office assistance as needed for typing, filing, and faxing.
• Support with planning and set up of company events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Backup assistance for the following duties.

• Assist with employee benefits enrollment and employee programs.
• Assist with maintaining legal compliance by monitoring applicable federal and state labor laws and posting requirements.
•  Assist with providing federal and state mandated training as needed.
• Assist with Workers Compensation, Unemployment and other case records and claims.
• Assist with employee status changes, performance reviews, promotions, and merit increases.
• Assist with administration of leaves. Leave types can include Short & Long-Term Disability (STD & LTD), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Paid Family Leave (PFL), Family Medical Leave (FML) and other Leave of Absences (LOA).
• Post new job requisitions and assist with recruitment.
• Collect and track applicant resumes in compliance with Affirmative Action Program (AAP) guidelines.
• Maintain Applicant Tracking System (ATS) workflows up to date.
• Prepare and coordinate travel for both office and field staff to include booking and process travel expenses.
• Reception duties, switchboard telephone; greet visitors and implement visitor controls.
• Prepare and facilitate incoming & outgoing shipping using FedEx, USPS, and UPS.


REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
•  Minimum of 3 years current experience supporting Human Resources.
•  Thorough knowledge of California employment-related laws and regulations.
•  Working knowledge of legal compliance including Wage and Hour laws, and accommodations/ADA, benefits, payroll, workers’ compensation, and OSHA compliance.
•  Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
•  Must have the ability to independently prioritize and complete tasks and projects within a set timeline under pressure while adapting to changing priorities.
•  Must poses excellent Organization, time management, and follow through skills.
•  Ability to review and process personnel transactions rapidly and accurately with a high level of attention to detail.
•  Punctual, reliable and detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
•  Must be a team player, self-sufficient, and highly motivated.
•  Ability to accept tasking form multiple personnel and sources while being flexible, adaptable, and demonstrating an ability to problem solve.
•  Positive, professional attitude and presence with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of office, technical and management personnel both inside and outside of the organization.
•  Additional requirements include experience in MS Office Suite, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point, and Internet browser applications.
• 
This position requires a Secret US DoD security clearance.

PREFFERED SKILLS
•  Associate degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
•  HR experience in government contracting environments.
•  Experience with Service Contract Act (SCA) highly desirable.
•  Experience using Costpoint and Deltek a plus.

REMARKS
This position is Full-time.
Compensation: $27.00 - $30.00 an hour.
Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
Contract Labor Category used for this position is Project Analyst.
