Duties and Responsibilities - Perform Technical Sustainment Support (TSS), Sustainment Engineering (SE), Modernization Support (MS), Logistic Support (LS) for the Digital Modular Radio (DMR), 5/25 kHz UHF Legacy, and Radio Communications System (surface and shore), as well as crypto and modems associated with the preceding system.
- Provide Digital Modular Radio (DMR) Program of Record (POR) activities to include, but not limited to PITCO, SOVT, PICO, Engineering/Field Changes, CASREP analysis (entries in Information Technology Service Management ITSM), Technical Feedback Reports (TFBR), and Engineering/Technical reviews.
- Provide CONUS/OCONUS on-site technical assist visits and support to troubleshoot problems and resolve equipment issues, perform equipment testing to verify systems for full functionality, test, identify, and replace failed components, and provide technical support for existing system lab assets and sites.
- Provide onsite support for software installation, and system turnover processes to include pre-installation production/assembly and testing of systems, staging, and shipping of installation materials, on-site installation and System Operational Verification Testing (SOVT), training, and operational cutover.
- Provide technical/training assistance to ships in resolving DMR, 5/25 kHz UHF Legacy, and other radios communications systems casualties and their associated systems.
- Provide technical reviews of SCDs, IRDs, ICDs and Installation work scopes as required.
- Provide new laboratory installation insight and support testing for planned ISEA system located at St Juliens Creek, Portsmouth, VA. In addition, the contractor shall support testing/repair of existing lab radio communications equipment.
- The contractor shall assist with build, design, and maintenance of DMR UHF reconfigurable Legacy Lab Radios for testing.
- Attend meetings and provide reports as needed to support planning/execution.

Required Skills/Years of Experience Education: Technical Training in Relevant Technical/Engineering Field or Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications. Experience: Twelve (12) years hands-on specialized Radio Frequency Communication Systems experience and demonstrate In-Service sustainment engineering functions (e.g. design, development, evaluation, testing, and maintenance) of electronic equipment and systems experience in Navy DMR or another Shipboard Communication Systems Program. - Must be able to distinguish between different colors, possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks, stand for extended periods of time, and lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Specialized Experience: Three (3) years of hands-on experience with DMR system. The individual shall demonstrate extensive experience with each of the following: - Physical and functional level of network configuration.
- Diagnostic and troubleshooting functions.
- Current variants and their installations.
- Specialized test equipment required for troubleshooting.
- Technical documentation and troubleshooting aids.
- End-to-end architecture for each DMR variant.
